Assisi Animal Refuge and KASPA assist Kathy's Kitties in trapping cats to be spayed/neutered (photos: March 2007). This is an ongoing effort to try and control the downtown Killeen cat population in a Trap Neuter and Release program. To date, we have altered 230 cats. This has reduced the downtown cat population over the next 3 cat generations (approx. 18 months) by at least 6210.

During this operation no animals are hurt. They are safely transported to one of the participating veterinarians and after the operation released back into their known surroundings once the anesthesia wears off and they are fully alert again.

To be released

These three have been fixed and will be released back into their community as soon as they are fully alert.
